Efendy

My mother and I first came to this restaurant early in the year (with my first Entertainment Book). We were impressed with this place – particularly so that we got a complimentary dessert from the owner/head chef when we were totally indecisive as to which dessert to order –  so we brought my dad here for Father’s Day last week. Except the Father’s Day event was rather impromptu, so we couldn’t get a table upstairs in the ‘restaurant’, but we were still lucky enough to share a table with another mother-son pair downstairs in the meze area. The food was similar and still nice.

Last night we had:

Pistacchio chilli smoked babaganoush and spinach lemon zest mint yogurt with freshly baked turkish bread Likes the babaganoush!

We were all very taken by the flavour of the babaganoush!
Pomegranate braised beef short ribs, eggplant begendy The meat was so tender and fell off the bone with a delicious tangy sauce

Vegetable shashuska, halumi Nice potatos in here. My parents liked this dish, although thought it was a bit oily/heavy

Apricot w Kaymak (?), Keskul, Baklava Rather disappointing: the apricot thing was like 花生酥 without any hint of apricot, perhaps they ran out and had to serve us something else. The baklavas were just average, I've had better! The keskul in the middle was probably the standout of the three, but still it was not as exquisite as the first time we had it

The first time we ate here, we ate upstairs at the ‘restaurant’, we had some starters (which weren’t that great) and had the following dishes, all of which were delicious and left us wanting more.

Pistachio crusted lamb cutlets
